Snow Day in Maryland
yesterday it snowed here in maryland. my three friends and i got snowed in at their apartment. we face painted, gave each other tattoos, laughed, smoked cigarettes, (A LOT of cigarettes) played guitar and i found a new love for the tiles in the bathroom. i could not have asked for a better way to spend my day.
i really love my friends, and yesterday really, honestly, truly made me realize it....

“dad said that you said i can look at townhouses to live in.”
Living
my two friends and i are looking to move off campus next year and we have been looking exclusively at apartments in the towson, maryland area. today, my dad sent me an e mail with a link to craigslist for an absolutely beautiful town house on the water in this area. i immediately called the renter and it’s a little steep for our price range. i then spoke to my dad and he said he was...
Why did the chicken cross the road?
Plato: For the greater good. Aristotle: To fulfill its nature on the other side. Karl Marx: It was a historical inevitability. Machiavelli: So that its subjects will view it with admiration, as a chicken which has the daring and courage to boldly cross the road, but also with fear, for whom among them has the strength to contend with such a paragon of avian virtue? In such a manner is the...

Norah: There’s this part of Judaism that I like. Tikkun Olam. It said that the world is broken into pieces and everyone has to find them and put them back together. Nick: Maybe we don’t have to find it. Maybe we are the pieces.

I just love this quote. The first time I saw this movie, as embarrassing as it is, I cried at this part. I have...

Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is...

Whale Watch by Dean Young
Sometimes you may feel alone and crushed by what you cannot accomplish but the thought of failure is a fuzz we cannot rid ourselves of anymore than the clouds can their moisture. Why would they want to anyway? It is their identity and purpose above the radish and radicchio fields. Just because a thing can never be finished doesn’t mean it can’t be done. The most vibrant forms are...
How To Dress Like A Hippie
1. Do have a flower. I know the song says “in your hair” but the truth is that it’s hard to get the things to stay put. 2. No flower? Go for the Pocahontas headband. 3. Hair is long and “unkempt looking.” But it is clean. 4. Women could wear a mini or even micro skirt provided she had decent legs. A chain belt was groovy. Boots or go-go boots...
